Money was the overriding issue as the annex had to be built for a cost similar to a Portacabin prefabricated classroom. Rendered block walls support an inverted gang-nailed commercial roof truss and shuttering ply roof lining. The roof shelters the classroom and a little ‘house’ which contains art room sinks, lavatories and storage. The space is child-size, warm, stimulating and friendly. It was completed within budget.
